Queen City Art RacksQueen City Art Racks is an ongoing initiative to bring artist-designed, functional bike racks to public spaces throughout Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky. In the process it engages community stakeholders, employs professional artists and strengthens the region’s transportation options by creating awareness around bicycle parking. Want to design an Art Rack? Artists, designers, sculptors and bicycle enthusiasts are encouraged to submit their qualifications for consideration. Download the Request For Qualifications and read through the artists F.A.Q. for more information. Interested in bringing an Art Rack to your community or business? Download the Sponsor Packet. Since it's launch in the spring of 2010, Queen City Art Racks has created 14 opportunities for artists. We have installed racks downtown and in Clifton and are excited about upcoming installations in Hyde Park, Northside, Walnut Hills, Price Hill and many more throughout the downtown and Over-the-Rhine area. Look for new racks to hit the ground in the spring of 2012.
The above rack was created by Bob Dyehouse in partnerhip with the Clifton Clutural Art Center. Project support provided by NLT Foundation and Truepoint, Inc. |
