What is MuralWorks?

Murals, murals everywhere! ArtWorks and the Office of Mayor Mark Mallory have taken to beautifying Cincinnati by creating 17 innovative murals since 2007 in 14 different Cincinnati neighborhoods!

ArtWorks invites every Cincinnati neighborhood to partner with MuralWorks to bring vibrant, exciting works of art to their community. The MuralWorks process engages residents, businesses, artists, and teens to work together to transform the City. Ultimately, ArtWorks seeks to bring a mural to every Cincinnati neighborhood.

In 2009, ArtWorks is expanding MuralWorks to Newport and Covington in an effort to help beautify the entire Cincinnati region!

Through the MuralWorks program, ArtWorks will employ teenage and professional artists as well as work with community members to create murals. These murals will speak to the city's history, imagination, and aspirations, while acting as powerful agents of neighborhood transformation, civic pride, and identity. Blank walls throughout Cincinnati, Newport, and Covington will soon become colorful murals, telling many amazing stories, and MuralWorks is proud to help create them with your help!

Now accepting mural requests for Spring/Summer 2009!

Download a City of Cincinnati mural request and submit it by Mon., November 3.

Download a Newport/Covington mural request and submit it by Mon., December 15.

MuralWorks applications will be accepted at anytime. To be considered for Spring/Summer 2009, please submit your request by the above deadlines.

How to be a muralist:

Professional Artists: To be considered as a lead artist for upcoming murals, please submit your resume, 3 references and a minimum of 5 painting samples to:
